Even without the traditional carnival blocks and samba school parades, the carnival period did not go completely unnoticed for the Cariocas. They filled a section of Leblon Beach to celebrate.

Many beautiful, happy young people in a fun atmosphere. This is Rio's middle and upper class who normally do not frequent the traditional Copacabana Beach, as many tourists imagine it to be.
